Creativity and New Media
So I've decided to make a Second Life account and it is pretty amazing since you can practically go anywhere in this virtual world by teleportation. I created my own avatar (3rd picture) and here are some of the places that I went to:

These are just 3 of many places you can go in this online virtual world. Not only you can travel, you can create your very own avatar (see 3rd picture) and communicate with other people through their avatars. Anyone over 13 yrs of age can join and people can get creative with their avatars by buying new clothes with Linden Dollars which can be obtained using real currency. I find it really interesting because you can go to locations in this virtual world that you probably can't go in real life.

I noticed a lot of people inlcuding yourself used Second Life for this assignment. Is it an easy process to sign up, register, and make an avatar? The screenshots you included look very interesting, especially the fisrt one. Is it based off of a real plae?
ReplyDeleteThe whole idea of second life is awesome! You can create an avatar, pick a location, activities and etc.... And when you start to play with it- it's really hard to stop ;)
ReplyDelete@James, I'm not so sure if it is based off a real place but it was a unique place to go to in Second Life; in most cases most of places you go in Second Life are based off a real place
ReplyDeletewow second life is pretty cool! never really liked those kinds of "programs" but maybe i'll give it a try! being able to travel to destinations that are in real life is pretty cool!
